Use PowerPlatformTip in Copilot Studio (MCP)
Your Copilot Studio agent can look up every PowerPlatformTip itself. Add the server once, then ask a question such as “How do I stop an approval from timing out after 30 days?”. The agent searches the tips, reads the matching articles and can answer with a link to each source.
Adding the server to an agent, creating the connection and asking a real question. Under two minutes.
TL;DR: Server URL
https://func-mcp-kmupower.azurewebsites.net/tip/mcp. Authentication: None. It is read-only, free and needs no sign-in.
Server URL
https://func-mcp-kmupower.azurewebsites.net/tip/mcp The server is listed in the official MCP Registry as com.powerplatformtip/mcp. The connection URL stays the same.
For the server description field, copy this text. The agent uses it to decide when to call the server.

- Open your agent. Next to Tools, select the plus sign.

- Server name:
PowerPlatformTip. - Server description: paste the text from above.
- Server URL: paste the URL from above.
- Authentication: None, then Add.

- Test it in the test pane, for example: “How do I stop an approval from timing out after 30 days?”
Source: Microsoft Learn, connect your agent to an existing MCP server and add tools and resources from an MCP server. Copilot Studio supports the Streamable transport.
Copilot Studio creates a custom connector for the server and uses Streamable HTTP. The agent calls the tools Search PowerPlatformTip and Get one tip in full, and every result contains the link to the original tip, so the agent can include it in its answer.
Use it in your AI assistant
The server works in any client that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP. Menu names change from time to time, so check the linked documentation if a label looks different.
Microsoft 365 Copilot and Teams
Microsoft 365 Copilot does not take a bare MCP URL in its chat. You reach the server through an agent. There are two routes, both documented by Microsoft.
Route 1: a Copilot Studio agent (no code). This is the simpler route.
- Add the server to an agent as described in the Copilot Studio steps above.
- Select Publish in the top right.
- Open Channels, select the Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot channel and select Add channel. Keep Make agent available in Microsoft 365 Copilot selected.
- Install the agent for yourself, or share it with your colleagues. To show it to the whole organization, submit it for approval. A Microsoft 365 admin then approves it under Agents, All agents, Requests in the Microsoft 365 admin center.

Route 2: a declarative agent with the Microsoft 365 Agents Toolkit (for developers). Microsoft documents this route for remote MCP servers. You need Visual Studio Code, Agents Toolkit 6.12.0 or later and a tenant that allows custom app upload.
- In Agents Toolkit, select Create a New Agent/App, then Declarative Agent.
- Select Add an Action, then Start with an MCP Server.
- Enter the server URL from above.
- As authentication type, select None.
- Select Provision to sideload the agent into your tenant, then open it at m365.cloud.microsoft/chat.

GitHub Copilot in VS Code
Add this to .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace, or to the mcp.json of your user profile.
{ "servers": { "powerPlatformTip": { "type": "http", "url": "https://func-mcp-kmupower.azurewebsites.net/tip/mcp" } } } Then open Copilot Chat, switch to Agent mode and check that the server is running. You can also use the Command Palette: MCP: Add Server, then HTTP, then paste the URL.

What the server can do
- Search all tips and articles in full text, optionally by tag or connector such as Dataverse or SharePoint
- Read one tip in full
- List the latest tips and all tags
- List upcoming free live workshops of the Power Platform Academy
Privacy
The server returns public PowerPlatformTip content and public Power Platform Academy workshop information. It does not ask for your name, tenant or any other personal data, and it does not store your questions. Your IP address is held in memory only to limit the request rate.
More from the same family
The same setup works for the other two sites. Use https://func-mcp-kmupower.azurewebsites.net/daily/mcp for curated product news from Power Platform Daily and https://func-mcp-kmupower.azurewebsites.net/governance/mcp for governance, security and compliance news from Power Platform Governance. Both are read-only and need no sign-in. Unlike the PowerPlatformTip server, they can also accept a suggested article, which goes into a review first.
